The fraud was organized by a Ukrainian man in his twenties, for whom two Ukrainian policemen and an Estonian were working from Odessa. They were wanted internationally for fraud, the Ukrainian police said.

Fraudsters called from fake phone numbers, pretending to be women. They manipulated their victims into giving them remote access to their phones or computers, or revealed their credit card numbers and tricked them into transferring money.

In several cases, they even managed to convince the victim to withdraw the cash and pedal it to a fake courier who was supposed to deliver it to a safe place. only the criminals of the group succeeded in deceiving at least 16 people.

However, the employees of the cyber police department were able to reveal the identity of the fraudsters as well as their place of residence. The police then conducted 23 house searches, which led to the arrest of all elements of the fraud. The court will now decide on the extradition of six Czech prisoners to the Czech Republic. I threatened the Ukrainian government and was imprisoned for 12 years.

According to the Ukrainian police, two agreements concluded between the Czech and Ukrainian authorities in criminal matters helped to stop the activities of the fraudulent call center.

Last year, thanks to this, another similar fraudulent activity of Czech and Ukrainian victims was discovered, who extorted 183 million crowns from their victims by telephone.
