The floorball players of Jiskry Domažlice finished in third place in the regional league, four points behind the first FBŠ Slavií Plzeň B. The goal for the next competitive year is to work young players into the squad and once again move in the upper levels of the table.

The season was great. We wanted to stay around first place and score more than a hundred goals, which we did. We included new players and a few juniors who adapted very well,” said Jiskry Domažlice floorball player Robert Kubica.

He was especially pleased with the matches with FBŠ Gorillas Plzeň U23, which defeated Domažlice in Šťáhlavy with a rejuvenated team 19:3 after beautiful team and individual events. “And then we beat Rokycany, who came to this season from a higher league,” said Kubica.

“Furthermore, I must mention the last tournament we played on home soil with the strong Slavia Plzeň and FBC Plzeň B (Domažlice beat Slavia 6:5 after raids, they lost to FBC Plzeň 6:7 after raids, auto note). The second mentioned had reinforcements from the A-team, which regularly participates in the second highest league in the Czech Republic. Both matches were played at a great pace and the audience, of which there were many, had to be entertained. I would like to thank them for their support throughout the season,” he added Robert Kubica.

Jiskra dominated the individual statistics, as Ondřej Baroch became the most productive floorball player, the best scorer and record scorer of the regional league.
