A drunken policewoman got away with an attack on a young girl without punishment | iRADIO

“The policewoman in question is able to perform her duties as of the date of the application, and there are no proceedings with her in matters of employment related to a possible exemption from duty.”

Such an answer came to a request under the Information Act, in which the iROZHLAS.cz server was interested, among other things, in whether – and possibly in what way – the policewoman had been punished. In the video, she helps her partner in the attack on a nineteen-year-old girl.

Answer? No punishment came. At least for now. The woman, who was also in a drunken state, knocked down a young visitor to the night club, as shown in the recording published by the Blesk.cz server.

Her partner, a now-disciplined police officer, eventually tried to forcibly stretch the girl’s legs, shouting: “Straighten your legs. I challenge you in the name of the law.” Then he took the girl by the hair and dragged her into the street. After the incident, the emergency services had to come for her.

At the same time, the spokesman of the Prague police, Jan Daněk, had previously informed that the policewoman’s behavior was being investigated by her superior. However, apparently he has not yet drawn any consequences. Daněk now explains it by saying that he is waiting for the conclusions of the investigation General inspection security forces, which examines all the circumstances of the night skirmish. “Subsequently, a decision will be made on the further course of action in the matter,” said the spokesperson.

The General Inspectorate, which deals with criminal offenses by police officers, has been dealing with the fight since February, that is, since it happened in the center of Prague. No result yet. “We have been dealing with this incident from the beginning. Now the matter is in the stage of non-public examination. Therefore, more information cannot be disclosed,” responded the spokeswoman for the inspectors, Ivana Nguyenová.

The policeman appealed

A drunken policeman from the Patrol Service Department of the Prague I Police, who brutally attacked a young girl, has meanwhile already been punished. His superior first put him out of service, then came a stricter step. The police officer was relieved of duty. This means that although he remains a police officer, he cannot go to work. At the same time, he receives a lower salary.

The decision on exemption from the performance of the service is not final. The police officer appealed, as the server iROZHLAS.cz and Radiožurnál found out. The reason, however, is not the exemption from the performance of the service itself. “The appeal concerns the duty of reachability, which was ordered by the official,” explained police spokesman Daněk. This means that for the duration of the inspection investigation, they must stay close to their permanent residence.

The case of an aggressive police officer will now be dealt with by a superior official, who is the director of the Regional Directorate of the Police of the Capital City of Prague. “The employee continues to be exempted from service, as the appeal does not have a suspensive effect,” added Daněk.

The incident occurred on February 17 in front of a night club in Prague’s Nádražní street. The policeman, who at the time of the fight had 2.6 per thousand of alcohol in his blood, was kneeling on top of a nineteen-year-old girl in front of a night club in his official uniform, pulling her by the hair and sliding her onto the road. The Novinky.cz server also wrote that he kicked another girl down the spiral metal stairs before, she broke her leg and then ended up in the hospital, where she had to undergo surgery.

The policeman has already been punished in the past, as Seznam Zpravy pointed out. According to police spokesman Daňko, disciplinary proceedings were conducted against him for misdemeanor conduct. It happened in 2020, the policeman was found guilty and his salary was reduced because of it. Again, everything took place outside working hours, so the police do not want to say what exactly it was about and whether alcohol played a role.

“Given that the member’s actions were unrelated to the performance of his service, we are not authorized to disclose this information. To clarify, when, for example, a police officer with his private vehicle commits a traffic offense in his free time, he is subsequently dealt with in disciplinary proceedings by a service official,” said Daněk.

The police previously stated on the X social network that they consider this behavior unacceptable and inexcusable. The Minister of the Interior, Vít Rakušan (STAN), commented on the incident that the police do not deserve such people to tarnish its name.
