The Traceless Tourism project wants to show newly selected routes in a unique way and remind people how to behave sustainably on their trips

--

More than two million tourists went to Prague Castle last year. Less than two million of them took the cable car to Petřín, and last year almost half a million tourists visited the Adršpašské rocks, making it the most visited natural destination. There are places that pull more than others. And statistics show that they are exploited more and more. Crowds form in such places, they are overcrowded. People lose the experience of tourism and there is often irreversible damage to natural and cultural monuments. The new project Tourism without Traces aims to educate visitors about a sustainable way of tourism and also tries to show the newly selected routes in a unique way.

The company E.ON, which, among other things, has been organizing the E.ON Energy Globe competition awarding ecological and sustainable projects in the Czech Republic for sixteen years, has joined forces with other entities from the field of tourism or nature conservation and prepared the project Tourism without Traces. Thanks to it, he wants to show people the fact that even tourism can be operated sustainably and is based on three main pillars. Manifesto of sustainable tourism, newly selected routes with an ecological or sustainable goal and subtext and accompanying activities including clear websites.

The manifesto of sustainable tourism encourages how to behave in nature

The E.ON company, in cooperation with sixteen experts across various fields, has drawn up the Sustainable Tourism Manifesto, which in ten points gives instructions to tourists on how to behave on their trips so that they do not unnecessarily burden the localities they are going to. The manifesto was ceremoniously signed and discussed last week, and was created by, for example, influencer Lukáš Hejlík, representative of the CzechTourism agency Tereza Kadlecová, Martina Pásková from the Ministry of the Environment, Ondřej Vítek from the Nature and Landscape Protection Agency or Pavel Přílepek from the Club of Czech Tourists. The manifesto encourages tourists to, for example, travel responsibly, leave no trace behind in nature, change anything for the better, and so on. People can find its full text on the website www.eon.cz/turistika-beze-stop/ and from the end of this week also on the website www.turisticabezestop.cz.

New routes will take tourists to less frequented places

In addition, E.ON, together with the Club of Czech Tourists and the CzechTourism agency, selected new routes that can provide the public with an alternative to busy places. A total of eighteen new routes are suitable for families, each route has an ecological goal that it pursues, and in cooperation with influencer Lukáš Hejlík, it was also supplemented with a sustainable gastrotip, which is located directly on that route. The intention was to select locations in all regions of the Czech Republic, and to make them more visible, interested parties can find these routes in the mapy.cz application or DVTV internet television will film special medallions about them. Before the summer holidays, nine routes will be created in this way. Another nine will be added in the fall. The first such episode will show interesting trails around Vranov nad Dyjí in South Moravia, and viewers will see it already on May 1 in the early evening. Every week, DVTV will add another episode, which will be accompanied directly by TV presenters. As part of the medallions, viewers will also see interviews with guests-representatives of interesting places right on the route.

The center of the project will be the website

Viewers can find all information about the project, descriptions and links to routes and videos on the website www.turisticabezestop.czwhich we will launch at the end of this week. (Until then, the website works from the address www.eon.cz/turistika-beze-stop/). E.ON plans to place other activities directly on the selected routes. For example, the organizers want to place a cache and a commemorative book with a QR code on each route, where children can find questions from the field of energy as part of the game program Technikiáda. The four routes will also receive a Geofun virtual guide for children.

The entire project will also be accompanied by a marketing campaign, the main motive of which will be the motto:

“I behave like an animal in nature”.

E.ON does not see the whole project as a one-time thing, but on the contrary as a long-term support. For example, he plans to expand the selection of routes to include routes suitable for cyclists in the coming years.
