He wants to start building a path for cyclists and pedestrians this June along part of the repaired road extension of the town hall in Litovla in Olomouc. The project, which has been in the works for several years and will require an investment of approximately 30 million crowns, was approved by the city council. The town hall will try to obtain an additional subsidy. The Mayor of Litovel Viktor Kohout (SNK Litovel) informed about this on social networks.

According to Kohout, the planned investment includes the reconstruction of sidewalks and the construction of a mixed cycle path with a total length of 1.7 kilometers along the road stretch in Dukelská Street, which will be used by approximately 10,000 cars every day. According to Kohout, the path for pedestrians and pedestrians will increase safety and improve the flow of traffic in this part of Litovla, as cyclists will no longer have to ride on a busy road.

Last year, a three-year reconstruction of the road section ended in Litovla, which included the expansion of three bridges over which the planned mixed cycle path will lead. “We shared about 12 million in the preparation of the bridges so that they corresponded to our project as well. Unfortunately, in the meantime, we did not manage to get subsidies, which is why the whole event was delayed,” said Kouhout.

The new mixed cycle path will start opposite the Head factory and run alongside the road towards the bus station. At the same time, the builders will modify the bus bays, build new places to cross the busy road and install traffic signs.
