The public prosecutor released executor Igor Ivanko, accused of abuse of powers of an official, from custody. This was confirmed to Seznam Zprávám by the Prague police, who are investigating his case. “The man was released from custody,” said Prague police spokesman Jan Daněk. He did not want to comment on the reasons.

The Prague City Prosecutor’s Office, which oversees the case of Igor Ivanko, then stated that the executor left the Pankrák remand prison after all the witnesses that the police needed to call to testify had been interviewed.

Ivanko was released on the condition that he is not allowed to leave the Czech Republic and must report regularly to the probation officer. “The reason for fugitive detention was replaced by the guarantee, promise and supervision of a probation officer. In addition, a travel ban was imposed,” confirmed to Seznam Zprávám the deputy Prague municipal prosecutor, Daniela Smetanová.

Ivanko was vouched for by his partner – judge from the District Court for Prague 3, Dáša Vítková, with whom Ivanko has lived for over fifteen years. Judge Vítková is currently, among other things, dealing with former president Miloš Zeman’s lawsuit against doctor Džamila Stehlíková.

After his release from custody, Ivanko did not comment. He didn’t pick up the phone and didn’t even respond to questions sent. His lawyer Robert Kabát then stated that he could not comment because he was bound by confidentiality.

The executor was charged due to suspicions that he systematically did not pay the money received from the debtors. He is also being prosecuted because he did not separate these funds from his own income. The crimes he is accused of are punishable by five to twelve years in prison upon conviction.

In addition, the police also seized Ivanko’s land. At the same time, the police managed to block more than 6.5 hectares of land near Mokrovrat in the Příbram region just a short time before Ivanko stopped this property. And that to the company Seminole Corp, from which Ivanko previously borrowed an amount in units of millions of crowns.
