An alert police officer arrested a nationally wanted man during his off-duty time

A few days ago, a policeman from the local district department drove through Sokolov in his private vehicle and in his personal car. He then saw a thirty-five-year-old man near the swimming pool, whom he knew from work that he had been ordered to serve a prison sentence for property crime and that he was avoiding going to prison.

So the policeman stopped, got out of the car and wanted to detain the man. But the nationally wanted man recognized the policeman and immediately started running away.

“The police officer immediately ran after the man and, during a chase of several hundred meters, called him several times to stop, otherwise coercive means would be used. However, the man did not respond to the calls and continued to flee.
The policeman finally caught up with the thirty-five-year-old man and brought him to the ground. After that, the policeman reported everything to the police emergency line using a mobile phone given to him by a passing woman, and then his colleagues arrived at the scene. The man was restricted in his personal freedom and transferred to the district department for further actions.” the police spokesman described the unusual intervention.

“A colleague proved that a policeman is a policeman twenty-four hours a day, even when he is not wearing a uniform. During his time off, he behaved in an exemplary manner and did a very good job. I am pleased that we have such colleagues in our ranks,” concluded the Director of the Regional Police Directorate.
