Tram “horror”: Track repair will complicate journeys through Prague! 15 lines are waiting for shutdowns

Tram operations in the center and northern part of Prague will be stopped for months, for example, by the reconstruction of the track in Havlíčková and Dlážděná Street. “It is not in good condition and needs a complete reconstruction,” said the transport company (DPP), the last repairs were made here more than 20 years ago. This lockout will begin on Monday, April 29, and will last until June 28. The reconstruction will then be followed by the repair of the tracks in Jindřišská and Vodičková Streets lasting until September 30, the construction of the track in the upper part of Wenceslas Square and the repair of the tracks in Prague 7 in Dukelských hrdinů Street. It ends on October 25.

More than 20 urban public transport lines, including 15 tram lines, are thus changing their routes. Specifically, day lines 1, 3, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 24, 25, 26 and 27, night lines 91, 92, 94 and 96 or bus lines 207, 905, 907, 908, 909 and 911.

Change without transfer

Part of the trams is waiting for a diversion, another change of number on the route without the need to transfer. Line 25 runs as it does now, which in the direction of the center changes to number 8 at Strossmayer Square and vice versa. Line 3 (changing to 26 on Senovážné náměstí) and line 14 (changing to 6 on Karlové náměstí) will also run this way.

Not through Karlín by three

Casting awaits mainly Karlín. The troika they are used to won’t go to Karlín! In the direction of Modřany and Braník, it will be taken from the Jindřišská stop to the Senovážné náměstí stop, then as line number 26 via the Hlavní nádraží stop to Nádraží Hostivař. However, line 12 is fast, in the direction from Sídliště Barrandov from Vltavská via the Štvanice, Florenc, Křižíkova, Invalidovna, Palmovka, Nádraží Vysočany, Kolbenova and Hloubětín stops to the Lehovec interchange. She avoids Angel for a change.

New lines will help

Traffic the company is introducing four new lineswhich help smooth travel.

Line 30 on the route Březiněveská – Kobylisy – Bulovka – Palmovka – Florenc – Masarykovo nádraží (in Na Poříčí street) – Náměstí Republiky – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Hradčanská – Dejvická – Nádraží Veleslavín – Dědina.

Next, line 31 on the route Spovojnoj – Ohrada – Palmovka – Balabenka – Vysočanská.

The third is line 34 on the route Libeňský most – Maniny – Vltavská – Bílá labuť – Masarykovo nádraží (in Na Poříčí street) – Náměstí Republiky – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Exhibition grounds – Nádraží Holešovice – Trojská – Kobylisy – Vozovna Kobylisy.

These will be supplemented by line 90 in night traffic on the route Palackého náměstí – Karlovo náměstí – Lazarská – Wenceslas Square – Hlavní nádraží – Olšanské náměstí – Flora – Olšanské hřbitovy (in the section Palackého náměstí – Lazarská it is in service only in the indicated direction).
