This year’s celebrations of the end of the Second World War in Pilsen have an unpleasant ending. The police are investigating a case where one of the participants of the popular Freedom Convoy waved a flag with a Nazi swastika. The situation was to be captured by a camera that streamed the passage of the convoy live on the Internet. The video is already circulating on social networks. According to available information, the incident should not involve a participant in any of the military history clubs.

“We recorded a video on social networks where one of the actors of the American convoy hands a flag with a Nazi symbol to another person in the vehicle. We are currently investigating this case, both the captured illegal act and the authenticity of this video.” said the police on https://twitter.com/PolicieCZ/status/1787113046902514054.

The footage shows one of the drivers handing a swastika flag to his female passenger. The mayor of Pilsen has already condemned the incident Novel Zarzycky (YES). “Such behavior is completely unacceptable and should be strongly condemned. The case is already being investigated by the Police of the Czech Republic. According to my information, these were not members of traditional military clubs, but an individual participant in the convoy,” added the mayor. If the police come to the conclusion that it was a promotion of a movement aimed at suppressing human rights and freedoms, the perpetrator faces up to five years in prison.

This year’s 79th Freedom Celebration in Pilsen, which is one of the largest celebrations of the end of the Second World War in Europe, culminated with a spectacular parade of historical military equipment.
