The real estate market is coming back to life thanks to the discounting of mortgages. Olomouc is no exception, where there is a higher interest in apartments

For example, according to the analysis of the Valuo portal, which processes real estate cadastre data and public advertisements, last year the lowest number of apartments and houses were sold in the Czech Republic since 2015.

Hand in hand with this, on the other hand, interest in rental housing increased, which raised rent prices in Olomouc as well. Since the end of last year, however, the situation has slowly started to change. Thanks to the slowing down of inflation in the Czech Republic, the Czech National Bank has started to gradually reduce interest rates. People who put off buying an apartment in previous years have gradually started to return to the real estate market.

“Many families who could not afford or did not dare to take out a mortgage are now returning to it with the vision that the mortgage market will have a downward trend,” said the head of the Hanáck real estate office, Petr Korytar.

On the real estate market in Olomouc, the growing interest in apartments, according to real estate agents, is manifested mainly by the fact that the offered apartments manage to sell faster. In the previous two years, sellers often waited for long months for interested parties and sometimes this forced them to lower the offer price. This mainly concerned older apartments. Now those interested in the same or similar apartments are actively applying, brokers are seeing more and sales are much faster.
