This year, the popular new circus troupe Cirk la Putyka celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. In those fifteen years, it hurt more than a hundred times. But it’s beautiful that there is still the knowledge and the desire to continue. It’s good to get to the bottom, because the entrance back is all the more euphoric, the founder and leader of the group Rosa Novk Jr. told iDNES.tv.
For the first time in the framework of the changing jubilee, Cirk La Putyka is preparing the new Okamik. At the same time, Azyl78 will start operating this year, i.e. a small branch between Prague’s Vstavit and Stromovka, which will open this year with confirmation.
The creators of Okamiku (which is directed by a Finnish director and a long-time collaborator of the group Maksim Komaro, as well as an artist of the Finnish group Circo Aereo) promise hitherto unseen disciples. Spectators can enjoy aerial acrobatics, dynamic ground acrobatics, surprising handling of everyday objects, walking on glass steps, a teeterboard, jumping on a trampoline and a bit of magic and visual theater.
My goal is to fit the entire fifteen-year history into this moment in the blink of an eye. During the evening, in some free way, the whole event will be introduced. On the other hand, I will create a completely new mine that will happen first here and there, says Komaro.
The new piece, which will also include a band, loosely follows on from the great project “Cesty”, which attracted Cirk La Putyka in the last years of its summer season. You blink and you are transformed in an instant. As if a curtain was pulled back and a world of fantasy and imagination was revealed to me. You open your eyes for a fraction of a second and see much more than you are able to grasp at that moment, like the reisr, which explains the name of the premiere. The moment will be available in Asylum78 every day between May 2 and 25.
