A real piece of detective work was done by a man who had a thief break into his apartment in Prague early in the morning and rob him. He also took a backpack in which there was a tracking device. The man then tracked down the paw and recognized him by the fact that he was wearing his clothes. The police took care of the rest.
The robber entered the apartment in which the unsuspecting man was sleeping early in the morning of April 18. He stole clothes, a backpack and a payment card. However, the owner had a tracking device in his backpack, so he managed to find the perpetrator on his own in Prague 7.
“The man recognized that it was a thief because he was wearing his clothes and shoes. However, the moment the victim confronted the man about returning his belongings, he began to run away from the scene.” a police spokeswoman said on the website Kristýna Soukupová.
But the policemen were already nearby, to whom the robbed had reported everything in the meantime. The patrol started chasing him, the thief did not respond to calls to stop. They caught up with him on the street and handcuffed him.
“The man had most of the things he had stolen that day with him. The victim suffered damage in the total amount of almost sixty-five thousand crowns as a result of this action. Before the actual arrest, the man managed to get some refreshments and at the same time misuse the payment card, which he stole along with other things from the victim,” said Soukupová.
The man is liable for up to three years in prison for theft, trespassing, as well as unauthorized measures, forgery and altering means of payment.
