The reconstruction of the I/37 road in Pardubice is halfway through. On Saturday night, the first half of the repaired four-lane stretch from Chrudim to Hradec Králové was opened to drivers. Immediately after transferring traffic, the builders headed for the western half of the road, i.e. the direction from Hradec Králové to Chrudim.

The builders are waiting for the same work as the first half, namely the milling of the asphalt cover and the subsequent laying of new asphalt. All restrictions are due to end on May 17, when traffic will resume in both directions.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, a change occurred to drivers heading along the I/37 road in Pardubice: Construction workers here transferred traffic from the left half of the road to the already completed right side. For drivers, there are still traffic restrictions in the form of traffic in both directions, reduced speeds and partial closures at MÚK Doubravice and MÚK Rosice nad Labem.

The connecting corridor at the emergency department will be heated. Construction could start this year.

The Directorate of Roads and Motorways intends to repair the section of road I/37 in Pardubice in a short time, namely in 45 days. According to the builders, this is the shortest possible time for the reconstruction of such a stretch. Currently, the builders have started working on the second half of the road stretch, where they will replace the asphalt layers, part of the existing storm drain, which is already non-functional in some places, and will also install new barriers.

“The reconstruction of the I/37 road is going according to plan, which means that at the moment we are finishing the asphalt surfaces and at the same time installing the guardrails. Everything corresponds to the fact that at the end of the week we will transfer traffic to the second half, and the schedule actually comes out on May 17 as the complete end of the reconstruction,” said Jan Rýdl, spokesman for the ŘSD.

The reconstruction is carried out for a contract price of CZK 119.95 million excluding tax by M-Silnice and EUROVIA CZ a.s.
