The Germans invented a camera with AI technology that can take your clothes off in 10 seconds

Along with the expansion and improvement of artificial intelligence, concerns about privacy in particular are growing among people. Recently, the trend is “deepfake” photos, which are able to undress a person using artificial intelligence. However, two German artists have defied fears by creating a NUCA camera that has AI built right into it. This camera will take a picture of you on the street, for example, and immediately undress you with the help of AI in almost real time with only a small delay. Fox News reports on the news.

German artists Mathias Vef and Benedikt Groß are behind the invention of the smart camera. The Germans allegedly created the camera precisely to point out the unstoppable improvement of artificial intelligence, which can be easily abused. The couple is said to have thought about how AI can most violate a person’s privacy without their permission and subsequently came up with the idea of the NUCA camera. German artists hope that their invention will force people to think about the dangers of modern, ever-improving technology. The goal of the project is to stimulate debate and draw attention to the risk of loss of privacy that artificial intelligence brings.

To make the exterior of the smart camera, the artists used a 3D printer, using it to print the lens and the entire outer case. NUCA uses a smartphone to take the photo itself, which then forwards the photo to the cloud for an AI application that undresses the subject. Of course, the camera does not know what a person really looks like. It works by determining the gender, then analyzing the face, age and other aspects such as body shape. It then creates a replica of what it thinks the naked body looks like based on the information it finds.

Deepfake nude photos, which most often feature celebrities, have been circulating on the Internet for a long time. However, unlike deepfake photos, you don’t need any technical knowledge to use the NUCA camera, and the whole process only takes 10 seconds. It is the simplicity of its use that draws attention to the risk of rapidly improving artificial intelligence.

However, the German artists have no plans to allow people to use NUCA for commercial purposes. They will demonstrate the camera and its features at an art exhibition in Berlin at the end of June, precisely to raise awareness of the risk of AI. In the future, there is a risk that someone will create a similar technology and then use it for blackmail under the threat of publishing fake nude photos.
