The awareness event Pink EXPO about sexual taboo will be held in Prague for the second time

The second year of the unique Pink EXPO event called Sex in the 21st Century: Boundaries and Taboos will take place in Prague. On Thursday, May 16, the Cubex center will host thirty experts who will give lectures, conduct workshops and discuss the sexual taboos of today. The event is organized by Růžový slon, which this year organizationally teamed up with ten non-profit organizations, for example with the Paraple Center and the Freya company.

Company Růžový elephant, which is domesticthe leader in the sale of erotic aids, is organizing the second annual awareness event Pink EXPOwhich follows on from last year’s conference Orgasm in the new millennium. Experts from the ranks of doctors, coaches, therapists and sexuality experts will share their experiences, knowledge and news in Prague’s Cubex center on May 16. The purpose of the event is to educate and de-taboo the area of ​​sexuality and intimacy.

“This year thematically we will focus on the biggest sexual taboos of today, which we have divided into sub-areas such as sex with a handicap, sex and the elderly, sex and communication, sex and prevention in the sense of education and awareness, sex and menstruation and sex and gender,” he specified Adam DurčákCEO of the company Pink elephant. “Part of the event will be two expert panel discussions in the morning block, which is intended for representatives of the media and the professional public. The afternoon program, which is already open to the general public, will then consist of dozens of lectures and various workshops. The event will conclude with a book launch ceremony and several art shows,” added Durčák.

At this year’s edition, the Pink Elephant cooperates with ten non-profit organizations, most closely with By the Umbrella Centerlong-term focussed on helping people paralyzed after spinal cord injury, and with the company Freya, which deals with the systematic introduction of work with sexuality in social, healthcare and school facilities. He therefore donates part of the proceeds to support their new publication.

“Breaking down barriers and taboos is one of the societal goals of the Umbrella Center, so we are happy to be able to participate in Pink Expo in an advisory and active role. Part of the proceeds that the Pink Elephant decided to donate to our center will be used to create a sequel to the book Yes, we can! Kamasutra for wheelchair users, which will provide an expanded view of the sexuality of people with a spinal cord injury, and in addition to sexual aids or positions, it will also focus more on relationships, communication, and dating methods.” stated David Lukeš, director of the Umbrella Center.

Two panel discussions, ten expert perspectives

The official program of the Pink EXPO event will be launched by ten experts in two panel discussions. First panel discussion Taboo from the point of view of the body and think it will provide an insight into the sexuality of people with disabilities and into the sexual life of older people, for whom sex is often a taboo subject. As part of the discussion, experts will further discuss the sexual taboo from a scientific point of view – from the point of view of psychology, gynecology and sexology. The panel will feature David Lukeš, Lucie Šídová, Leona Šímová, Ester Hladíková and Petra Vrzáčková.

In the second panel discussion Taboo from the point of view of communication experts will focus on sexual taboos in the context of communication, which is a key means of shaping society. The debate will offer different points of view on the taboo – for example, its perception from the point of view of the media and the educational system, which are important disseminators of information in society. The topic will be addressed by experts on partner, gender and intimate communication. Hana Vacková, Pavel Rataj, Lukáš Rychetský, Lucie Jarkovská and Veronika Kubíčková will discuss.

For the public: 25 lectures and workshops, a book launch and 5 live shows

The afternoon program will start with a lecture by journalist and entrepreneur Lilia Khousnoutdinova, which will be followed by a contribution by well-known doctor and influencer Kamila Žižková. They will be followed by a panel discussion Sex, boundaries and taboos from the perspective of practice. Experienced lecturers in the field of sexuality and intimate relationships Martin Plas, Klára Kloudová, Jana Mašková Zimolová and Markéta Zika Koppová will discuss. In the early evening, the christening of Marie de Hennezel’s book will take place with the participation of Ilona Bittnerová. It will be followed by a series of artistic performances – burlesque show by international performer Zorya Blue, BoomCats Show, stand-up sociologist Lucie Jarkovská, shibari show Krutý sever and Devil Wears Neon UV art.

The accompanying program will offer art and educational stands

It will be available for visitors as part of the accompanying program Art zone with an exhibition of works of art – Project Yonisphere Veronika Fodorová ART, Vulva Ritual Art Markéta Plas Zelenková. IN Expo zone booths of cooperating, especially non-profit organizations will be presented – such as Centrum Paraple, Freya, Society for Early Care, Loono, Tyfloservis, Projekt Lajfr, Mikasa, Projekt Zdravé dospivaní, Jsme banner, TELMED HTP, Maluna, Zorya Blue, Art of tantra. The screening of short thematic films and documentaries will be prepared in the film zone. Other partners of the event include Foodora, 4camping and FH Prager.

Follow-up international event – ​​Pink EXPO Weekend

In addition to Thursday’s awareness event Pink EXPO, the follow-up three-day international event Pink EXPO Weekend also aims to de-taboo the area of ​​sexuality. From Friday 17 May to Sunday 19 May there will be thematic mini-workshops, lectures, talks with experts, tastings and various creative workshops at all brick-and-mortar stores of Růžové slon. The entire program will be freely accessible and free of charge to visitors.

“The event will concern all our stores in the Czech Republic – i.e. the parent store in Havířov and four Prague branches in Centrum Kraków, in OC Quadrio, in Retail Park Štěrboholy and now also in OC Chodov. In addition to all Czech stores, the showroom in Bratislava will also participate in the Pink EXPO Weekend program. A special workshop for the public will also be prepared in Budapest. The purpose of this international event is to get closer to more people, which our stores will enable us to do, and thus de-taboo the area of ​​sex and intimacy. To show that it is something natural, to explain the meaning of sexual aids, their positive influence on sexual life and various sexual and health problems,” concludes the owner of the Pink Elephant Adam Durčák.
