If these five children were to join the race, then I think it would be nice, said Zdenek Hib, Deputy Minister for Transport. In addition to the number of passengers, other carriers, such as Leo Express or Die Lnderbahn, were invited to preliminary consultations. Not participating in the consultations does not mean that they could not participate in the tender, which is due in June this year. In addition to the carrier, Prague and the Stedoesk region were also addressed by the train.

The suit for the new railway carrier is divided into three main sections. If all the works were combined in one package, the total cost would be so large that it could discourage some potential applicants, said representatives of IDSK, which coordinates public transport in the Central Region.

In the first order, it is a contract for double-decker electric trains on the lines from Prague to Beroun, Koln, Milovice and Mlad Boleslav, which are to replace the current City Elephant vehicles from the end of 2029. With the new City Elefant sets, there is no sweat on the lines to Beneov, Koln or Lysa until 2044 in connection with how it will turn out to be DC-powered.

The other orders are single-decker electric trains for lines to Kralupe and Beneovo.

According to the customer’s estimate, the purchase of 54 electric units should cost 21.6 billion crowns. Another 24 billion can be used by the Stedoesk region and Prague to purchase additional vehicles from the option. It is a total investment of 45 billion crowns, but when you include the cost of pensions, depreciation, and expenses, the value of the contract will move to somewhere around 60 billion crowns, said Petr Boreck, the city councilor for transport.

Hi, driving insights

Prague and the region should share these costs equally. However, if the subsidies are not used, there will be a significant increase in the budget, which has the region and the city isolated from public transport. In the Stedo region, there will be an additional expenditure on transport of 1.4 billion kroner, and later on that billion ron. Currently, the region pays an additional 2.8 billion crowns for railway transport.

New trains will gradually appear on the tracks in Prague and in the Stedo region between 2029 and 2035. The route will have to increase over time. It is not reasonable to assume that Prague and the Stedoesk region will have new trains and that this will not affect costs in any way. We must realize that modernization always costs something, said Boreck.

At the moment, however, it is too early to predict how the price of tickets will increase. The whole set of variables is still unknown. It is not possible, for example, to estimate how the price of energy and the like will be several years in the future, added Boreck.
