Today before half past three in the afternoon, a cross beam fell on a man in the hall in Hliné Újezd ​​on Horažďovick. It was reported from the scene that he had collapsed and that he was very seriously injured, so all the emergency services went to the accident and the helicopter of the air rescue service was also called.

“The operator of the medical operations center of the rescue service received a report of a man falling and being crushed by a traverse. During the call, she conducted phone-assisted emergency resuscitation with the callers until the rescuers arrived at the scene,” described the spokeswoman for the rescuers.

Firefighters from four units assisted the rescuers in extricating the injured and transferring him to transport.

“A man born in 1950 suffered very serious injuries, he was secured on the spot and transported unconscious to artificial lung ventilation by air to the Emergency Faculty Hospital Lochotín,” said the spokeswoman for the rescuers.

The circumstances of the incident are now being investigated by the police. “A man born in 1950 was handling an iron crossbar in a former agricultural building, apparently the man fell and the crossbar fell on him. Due to his injuries, he was unable to take a breath test, and therefore a blood sample will be ordered from him. The exact cause and all the circumstances of the event are dealt with by the Klato policemen,” the police spokeswoman added.
