The 20th anniversary of the Slovácky circuit motorcycle races with the subtitle For the Milan Šobán Sr. prize will take place on the weekend of May 4 and 5 in the Old Town near Uherské Hradiště. Roughly two hundred riders will be presented in 19 categories.
“Immediately after the start of applications, we noticed a huge interest, including foreign riders. Competitors from Slovakia, Austria or Germany will come. The strong women’s team Wonder Woman with the current best Czech road racing rider Veronika Hankocyová will be presented at the circuit this year,” said Petr Chmelař from the organizer Motoklub Staré Město.

But we mustn’t forget the home riders either. Karel Kalina celebrates his 70th birthday this year, yet he will start in two categories. Staré Město will also be represented by Milan Šobáň Jr., in the sidecar category Karel Rýdlo with Jiří Kunz, Petr Verbík with Stanislav Parýzek and Petr Chmelař with René Andrýsk.
The complete Matuš family will also arrive from the almost home town of Uherské Hradiště, i.e. father Karel senior and his sons Karel junior and Pavel.
A generational battle on the circuit
In the category up to 600 cm³, there will also be an attractive clash of two generations of riders – forty-five-year-old Marek Červený and twenty-five-year-old Petr Najman will meet.
On the circuit, machines with a difference of almost a hundred years can be seen, i.e. BSA veterans from 1938 as well as year-old motorcycles with a “liter” volume and a power of two hundred horses.

An accompanying program is also prepared for the audience this year. Children will have fun at the Bambino party, and a Saturday concert by the band Tabák – Kabát revival is also planned.
The entrance fee is CZK 100 per adult per day, children are admitted for free.
