It used to be such a message, something like today “we had such a problem”, but the meaning is the same. The bad thing is that it’s like a fool’s errand in the backyard. Judge for yourself.

The continuous pension system is slowly sliding into financial unsustainability. in principle, it is not solvable, because the life expectancy of the population is increasing, fewer children are being born and there are fewer workers of working age. Prime Minister Fiala’s government decided to deal with the problem. ANO started shouting that the government did not want to talk to him. So the president called a joint meeting, but without a single member YES, who has the right to an opinion in the company. The result was a fight. The main argument of YES, why not go to the next meeting: the government will force it anyway and the debate with it is pointless.

The government is responding by deciding to raise the retirement age without a YES vote saying it will enforce it by force. By which she proved that the debate with ANO, if there was one, would be purely formal and meaningless.

But fooling around in the backyard doesn’t end there.

ANO bases its policy on the support of pensioners, that is its main voter group, and since they are increasing (some are dying, others are increasing, but they are increasing as an electorate), they need to be pampered. The government’s decision to push for a higher retirement age now will be a huge promotional argument for the next four elections, whether they’re about pensions (they mostly aren’t) or not.

But the paradox is that the higher retirement age does not concern current voters who vote YES, but young people who mostly do not vote YES.

When today’s young people retire and it will therefore affect them, today’s pensioners, including Andrej Babiš, will have long since retired and everything will be completely different.

The fooling around in the backyard doesn’t end there either.

What is important at the moment is that the government enforces it parametric change on strength. He will lose the election next year because of it. ANO will win them over and cancel the parametric change promoted by Fiala.

So why does all this happen when everyone has to know how it will turn out and that there is no point?

Because it’s like a fool’s backyard.
