We have two public holidays in May. The first is May 1, i.e. Labor Day. Shops over 200 square meters are open on that day. We will also have a week off on May 8, when we commemorate Victory Day. But the shops will be closed. Thousands of our citizens will certainly use the free days to travel to Poland, where shopping is still worthwhile. But what about the opening hours of our northern neighbours?
Czechs still go shopping abroad. Most often for meat or dairy products, 22 April 2024 Poland.

In Poland, they have a public holiday on May 1, when shops are closed. Poles do not commemorate the end of World War II on May 8 with a public holiday. However, there are three more public holidays in May, when shops are closed, so it is not worth going to Poland for shopping. Public holidays fall on May 3 (Constitution Day), May 19 (Pentecost) and May 30 (Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord).
