Elegant 2+1 in the heart of Prague: During the reconstruction, they bet on white, blue and gold details

The apartment, which is located in the historic center of Prague, naturally has a higher standard interior. Kristýna Šimoník and Martina Peštová from the architectural studio Šimoník, the architects who were in charge of the 2+1 renovation with a floor area of ​​93 m², worked with this. They managed to preserve the genia loci of the historical building, underline the airiness and lightness of the apartment. At the same time, they designed the interior in a distinctive, luxurious style.

The connecting line in the interior is the color blue, after which the authors and the owners also informally named the project. Blue is dominant, especially in the entrance hall and bathrooms. They combine it with oak parquet, materials in shades of white and gold details, which also appear throughout the interior. In an interesting way, they used paving with marble decor, which goes from the floor to the wall covering in the bathroom and the furniture pieces in the entrance hall and kitchen.

The apartment also stands out with several atypical elements. One of them is a generous glass door with graph glass, lined with a golden line. They are located between the living room and the kitchen and enable the connection of both rooms and their complete visual separation. The mirror in the entrance hall was inspired by the profile of the door frames. It is elegantly integrated into the furniture set of the wardrobe with shoe rack and, thanks to its size, visually enlarges the space. A small, but beautiful detail are the ventilation grills of the window sills and the covering grill of the skylight window. The geometry of their section corresponds to the graphics of the glass doors.

In the case of the blue apartment, they did not change the layout in any fundamental way, they only ventilated the living area of ​​the apartment by removing some partitions. Construction improvements included new floors and underlays, new plaster, plasterboard ceilings, overhaul of slatted wooden windows and interior doors with profiled cladding frames, replacement of entrance doors and new water, sewage, electricity and air conditioning systems.
