After a wild chase, the emergency response team found the man in the attic of the family home, where during a subsequent house search they discovered a sophisticated cannabis grow room. In recent days, the police finished the investigation and the public prosecutor filed a motion for indictment. The man now faces up to twelve years in prison.
“When the man was driving away, he went off the road into a field, which he crossed and reached the building where he hid. A patrol from the emergency and escort department also came to help and found the man hidden under glass wool in the attic,” recalled police spokeswoman Iva Kormošová. The driver’s breath test did not show alcohol, but he refused a drug orientation test.
“It turned out that he was banned from driving all motor vehicles until September 2025 at the time he was driving, he also has five records in his criminal record and is on probation,” the police spokeswoman continued, adding that the man could face up to two years for obstructing the execution of an official decision prison.
Thirty-five kilos of cannabis
But that is no longer true. During the arrest that followed the chase and subsequent cover-up, officers noticed suspicious items.
“On the basis of this, a search of the house and a search of the adjacent barns were carried out, where two sophisticated cannabis cultivation facilities with plants of different heights were found. The police officers secured over two hundred and fifty plants, which, together with the dried cannabis plants found and the dried cannabis itself, were handed over for expert examination,” continued Kormošová.
Almost 35 kilograms of seized cannabis had a THC concentration ranging from 1.6 to 8.8 percent, which exceeds the limit allowed for technical purposes. The accused man operated the nursery since January 2020.
