Czech traveler: When statues play golf. Try an unconventional trail in Prague

--

For years, I lived about a kilometer from the golf club in Prague, between Hornch Mcholup and Hostivae, and even if I wanted to learn golf someday, I haven’t done it yet. So, for me, the golf hit Hostiva was a huge space, a mysterious garden that I constantly walk around and don’t know what’s behind the fence.

A few days ago, that finally changed, because on one Monday the green was closed for golfers, and we art lovers could hit it instead. For the other two statues, I gave away two and a dog fence, and I was sorry that I couldn’t ble.

Over the years, she grew up on the golf course and occupied a sculpture gallery, and not just any other. By the way, in this case it is a pregnant woman on her knees, and according to the catalog, the woman’s gesture could be a sigh over the fact that we are not multiplying.

The path of the Petra Kole Stairs can be taken as if it were the crack of a lookout tower.

Anuloid Luke Raise created a simultaneously calming and disturbing impression.

There are about twenty works here. On the golf course, real personalities are exhibited, for example Pavel Opoensk with several objects called Bez nzvu. A fruitful statue (they are such boulders with handles) apparently does not like two names.

But the cutest is definitely Michal Trpek’s Pet, such a big ten-legged coyote. I knew his humanoid form for a while. A copy of this work of hurrying office rats with briefcases is standing (or rather marching) on the street in Budjovice, Czech Republic.

Take down the sculptures and the dark minimalist green background in the form of a golf green. On the golf course, there is also a hidden crack observation tower, such an unfinished staircase, which turns off above Hostiv. You can see mainly the industrial estate, but it is still a romantic city.

The golf gallery is open during the season on the first Monday of every month, from April to June, and the entrance fee is 200 crowns. The year 2024 is the first time this special gallery will be presented to the public. You can find more information here. Just be careful, it’s going to be very windy at the moment, so watch out for an unexpected shower.

How to get married

When you are with us in Chlupy (Hornch Mcholupy), stop by the local naun trail. Today it is hard to tell, but Mcholupy also has its history and the charm of the town, especially the Hostivaská mountain range, which approaches them to the west. About a kilometer above the dam, there is a booth on the site of the buffalo hospitality fence, and under the water there is such a cute plastic idol of a long time ago. Between the panels, a belfry with a bell was built on the outside of the room as a spiritual breath.

Pier at Hostiva

As for the history, I told you on one of the panels on the trail that near my house, near the Janovsk stop, at the beginning of the 20th century, half of the field used to be used for mobilization and then to park a tank in 1968. Today, it is somewhat imaginable. The same as the fact that relatively recently, in the 80s, the jet still died in Mcholupy, but today only a board with a photo of the trail remains.

Here, others thought that the history of Mcholup is the fifth story about how the village in Poland was quickly and mercilessly absorbed by Prague. That is why the local trail is also suitable for professional tourists.
