Tourism in the Stec region in the first quarter of 2024: compared to the same period last year, it increased by 3%

The number of guests in collective accommodation facilities in the Steck region increased by 3% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, while the number of overnight stays decreased by almost 2%.

There was a lot of drinking in the mass accommodation facilities in the Steck region 1st quarter 2024 in total 87,782 guest, and that was 2.9% more than in the same period last year. 31,161 foreigners and 56,621 domestic guests traveled to the region. The total number of guests in the Steck region was the lowest in the inter-region comparison. Among the regions, there was also the poet of the domestic guests, and the poet of the foreign guests was the fifth.

The number of domestic guests in the Czech Republic decreased by 2.4%, while the number of foreign guests increased by 14.1%. All regions with the exception of the Pardubice region recorded both total guest and foreign visitors. The decrease in domestic client sweat was reflected in the 3 regions of Plzeň, Liberec and Pardubice, in addition to the Steck region. The highest interannual number of tourists staying in total (+16.9%) was recorded in Prague, where 1.6 million clients drank. An increase of about one-tenth of the increase was observed in the regions of Vysoina, Jihoesk and Karlovy Vary. Vysoina Region (+12.9%) took first place in the number of domestic guests, followed by Jihoesk Region (+7.0%). The number of foreign clients increased the most in the South Region (+34.2%), followed by the Vysoina Region and the Stedoes Region (+29.0 and +25.7% respectively).


In the first quarter of this year, the Steck region lost 2.1% of the total number of visitors to the Czech Republic. The most visited region of the republic is permanently the capital city of Prague, where 38.1% of all female visitors went to in the first quarter of this year. In the structure of the host region 64.5% of them were guests. More than half of the total number of foreign visitors to the region from the point of view of national religion were guests from Germany (59.4%). Next in order were visitors from Slovakia (7.6%), the largest group was made up of visitors from Poland (6.2%). In cell R prevailed the same as in the Czech region according to domestic visitors (52.8%) over foreign guests (47.2%). The Czech Republic, like the Czech region, was visited by the largest number of foreign visitors from Germany, which accounted for 25.7% of the total number of foreign visitors. The second most numerous group of foreign visitors, as in our region, was made up of Slovaks, who accounted for 9.1% of the Czech Republic’s foreign clientele. A guest from Poland (7.4%) also attracted interest in R. The number of accommodated residents exceeded non-residents in the fifth region, with the exception of Prague and the Karlovy Vary Region, where foreign clients were dominant.

Guests who visited the region in the first quarter of this year, here they spent the night in total 217 127 night and compared to the same period in 2023, it represented a decrease of 1.6%. Non-residents (guests from abroad) spent a total of 77,711 nights in the region (an increase of 9.5%), residents, or house guests, spent a total of 139,416 nights in mass accommodation facilities, their average difference from foreign arrivals was a decrease of 6 .9%. In addition to our region, the total number of pensioners decreased in the other 4 regions of Plzeň, Liberec, Pardubice and Olomouc. In total, the total demand for accommodation in the Steck region in the inter-regional comparison was the least of the 5 regions with a decrease. Penocovn guest increased in total in 9 regions, the most in the Vysoina Region (by 19.7%) and in Prague (by 18.4%). Apart from foreign investors, there were at least five out of 12 regions with growth in the region (they monitored a decrease in the Pardubice and Zlín regions). The drop in income from domestic clients in the Steck region was the highest out of the total of 6 regions, where a decrease was recorded.

In the inter-regional comparison, the longest stays were recorded in the Karlovy Vary and Krlovroč region, and this was due to both domestic guests and foreign visitors. On average, the average guest and foreign nationals spent more than one night in accommodation establishments in the South Moravian region. For domestic clients, they registered the lowest average number of lodging houses in the capital city of Prague.
