The 2nd year of Sparkling May attracted visitors of all ages to Lobez Park

--

More than 5,000 people came to the Lobez Park in Pilsen on Saturday afternoon for the second year of the Sparkling May event. It was possible to taste sparkling, slightly sparkling and classic still wines here. Concerts by five groups were also prepared for the visitors. The program was also prepared for small visitors, who could make souvenirs, jump on a trampoline and in a bouncy castle, or use all the game elements of Lobezské Park. Sparkling May was organized by the city district of Pilsen 4.

Even though it didn’t look like it according to the weather forecast, the weather was kind to Sparkling May. “We already ordered the weather last year, so we are glad that it worked out for us. Lobezský park is a beautiful place, people like to go here. This place has a lot of potential,” says Mayor Tomáš Soukup. “The first year showed that Sparkling May took over. But this year’s attendance exceeded our expectations,” adds Deputy Mayor Ing. Zdeněk Mádr.

Visitors to Sparkling May could taste wines from a total of 10 wineries, mostly from Moravia. The sparkling one was in demand. “People specifically came to sparkling wines, they asked for them. In general, it can be said that their consumption is growing in our country. But they also came to taste our quiet red wines, which I personally like very much,” describes Tomáš Hnídák from Čejkovice. In addition to sparkling wines, people mostly tasted dry white or, conversely, semi-sweet wines. The winemakers had prepared more than 300 cases of wine.

The biggest attraction from the music production was the local group Lucie revival, which literally made Lobez Park dance. The Prague band BRK, the Pilsen choir Jéčko, the Pilsen band Queens of Bohemia and the local band Ocho Río also performed.
