The senior taxi service is used by more and more senior citizens in cities throughout the Czech Republic. This is mostly a model where the senior citizen’s journey is subsidized by the city, and it is carried out through a regular taxi service. This service was extremely popular in the Prague 11 district as well. Unfortunately, however, due to problems with the supplier of the senior taxi service, it temporarily ended in the Southern Town.
Therefore, the Prague 11 district office decided not to pay the invoices from December 2023 until March 2024. The operator responded by withdrawing from the contract. Eleven wanted to resolve the situation, especially the conflicting invoices, but the operator decided not to provide the service to the district from April this year.
The results of the inspection showed, for example, driving over the limit. The number of them is limited for seniors, they can use a maximum of four rides per month.
The municipality of Prague 11 has agreed with the legal representative of the operator that they will mutually try to resolve this business dispute out of court. We are now waiting to see how the operator of the taxi service will react to the city district’s call for negotiations. Nevertheless, the eleven is already actively looking for a new supplier of the Senior taxi service. Within a few months, the service should be restored again, this time perhaps with a problem-free supplier.
