An 18-year-old girl in Chomutovsk decided to steal into a home for the elderly. She used a ruse to get in, then posed as a charity representative, claiming to be collecting for charitable projects. She fraudulently extorted six hundred crowns from one of the seniors, then ran away. But she did not enjoy the money for long, a witness gave the police officers good information and the law enforcement officers quickly found the thief.

“An 18-year-old girl got into one of the homes for the elderly in Chomutovska by trickery and made her way to an open room on the first floor. There lives an over 80-year-old lady who was present in the room. The young woman allegedly told her that she was from some organization , which collects money for something beneficial. In this way, she was supposed to lure the victim’s wallet, which the lady herself had given her based on a fictional story, and take the sum of 600 crowns from it,” described police spokeswoman Miroslava Glogovská.

The girl then quickly left the home for the elderly. But it didn’t take long for the police to know who it was. “Thanks to information about her person, which was provided to the police by their former colleague who works in the mentioned building, the woman’s identity was quickly established,” confirmed the police spokeswoman.

The police charged the woman with theft and trespassing.
