We had the opportunity to see how the real life of the Florenc station looks like, and we immediately got to see its background. After midnight, the Florenc metro station slowly empties out. Talking about the fact that the train is not running that day, the rest of the passengers will also avoid it. Close the door to the world outside, you kind to the quiet world of the subway, where I am not traveling, open exclusively for the Metro. So come with them.

The secret passage
It’s eleven o’clock in the evening and we get off in front of the Florenc metro station. Foreman Milan Petrek is in charge of tunnel operation. We go down towards the subway on the escalators, the rest is full just like all the other passengers. To the left, ordered Petrek, and drags our whole group to the left. He opens a large metal door, and suddenly we find ourselves at the corner of a long corridor. Behind me, Petrek continues. Before long, we are standing at the edge of a few-meter-long staircase, which leads to the Florenc station panel. Stations B and C together are connected by eight floors. Each of them has one door and several corridors. You then reveal the secret of revenge. We pretended, for example, how the escalators work and what happens under them from the other side. We looked at the tunnel from where the electric stairs, subway cars and lights are powered. Next, we expanded the room with security devices that can stop you on the subway traveling at high speed. Among other things, we also ventured into one of the atomic shelters, where, according to Petrek, the evacuated people would spend those days. They would have to sweat in another shelter.

Civil defense
One of the stops is a tunnel through which air enters or exits the station. The lights are turned off and the silence of the station at night doesn’t mean anything. The corridor on Fridays is governed by a five meter wide and 45 meter high kiosk, actually such a long chimney that ends on the surface. During operation, air is drawn in or exhaled here, and if necessary, even people could run through it. The entire object of the main interior is protected by a security door. The inside of the kiosk is protected against splashes by welded iron sheets coated with an anti-corrosion red interior. hundred underground spaces also serve as civil defense. It is mistaken for the source of air, water and where people could go to the toilet in the underground. Behind a metal door in one of the tunnels, the blood of the social system is set.

Washes and vacuums
Non-life in the metro is limited except for the electrical system of the operation, so that’s safe. After midnight, only technical vehicles drive in the tunnels. Take care, among other things, of the bottom of the dormitory and the entrance. Beneath the stations there are water tanks, which are divided into fecal and non-fecal. Pump water and sewage back into the sewer from them. In the tunnels at night, you can meet a washing machine, a vacuum cleaner or a machine with a lance, from which repairs are carried out. Even in the dormitories, wash your hands. We have seen a lot more, but most of it cannot even be put on paper.

It’s the heart
Not a subway tour, and in general, a trip to the station, and its experience, you can’t ask for cadmium. I was very surprised how many milch people work here. And with Milan Petrek, who probably knows the station like the back of his hand, or Duan, an employee at mnrn, who knows everything about what used to happen around electricity. The general tour gave me a new perspective on the fact that not everything is as it seems. Traveling on the subway, it sometimes seems to me that it’s just a stupid subway, which is constantly getting better, which always only has a bottom, and it’s hard to get on. But basically every night, a drunk makes fun of people while we sleep, and he tries to make us nice in the subway.
