Concert for the 200th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana in the Hus Choir in Prague 6 – Dejvice on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 7 p.m.

The concert at the Hus Choir in Prague 6 – Dejvice will present choral works written for men’s, women’s and mixed choirs, as well as solo performances, orchestral pieces and, in the 2nd part, a joint performance of the choir with the orchestra.

Program:

Zdeněk Lukáš (1928–2007): Spring is opening, 1st, 3rd, and 5th parts, male choir with acc. the violin;
Bedřich Smetana (1824–1884): Má hvězda, Přílělí vlastovičky and Západ slunce, women’s choirs, 145 years have passed since their premiere in 2024;
Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1859–1951): Birth furrows in width and in distance;
B. Smetana: Dowry, version for mixed choir;
Antonín Dvořák (1841–1904), for mixed choir arr. Leoš Janáček (1854–1928): Dyby was a sharpened scythe, piano accompaniment;
L. Janáček, arr. folk songs: True love, B. Smetana, Vítězslav Hálek: Do not stone the prophets, Who knows how to play the golden strings, solo, piano accompaniment;
B. Smetana: Why wouldn’t we look forward to it?

After a short technical break:
Prelude My Home, Op. 62, Ant. Dvořák (on the 190th anniversary of the release of the song Kde domov můj in Tylova Fidlovačka);
B. Smetana: Czech song (choir and orchestra).

Performing mixed choirs:

Foerster Jičín (Božena Maxiánová),
Voice of Nová Paka (Alena Lelková),
Bořivoj Lomnice nad Popelkou (Petra Lukavcová),
Jizeran Semily (Jiří Kurfiřt)
and the Pardubice Conservatory Symphony Orchestra (conductor Tomáš Židek).

Tomáš Kyncl, piano accompaniments by Pavel Krčmárik and Tomáš Židek, violin Ludmila Krčmáriková.

The patronage of the concert was taken over by Mgr. Jakub Starek, mayor of Prague 6.
