After the last hopelessly sold-out concert at Foru Karlín in 2019, The Smashing Pumpkins are returning to the bigger spaces of the Liben O2 universe this year, as part of a tour The World Is A Vampire.
American The Smashing Pumpkins have earned the status of pioneers of alternative rock. Albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness it belongs to the best that came out in the nineties and also defined the early era. The current band consists of a singer and a guitarist Billy Corganbass player James Iha and a drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. Only the original founding four are missing D’arcy Wretzkywho left the band for personal reasons already in the late nineties.
At the beginning of the year, the band announced an audition for the post of guitarist, in which over 10,000 applicants from all over the world applied. The 35-year-old was chosen Kiki Wongwhich replaces the former guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

Tour The World Is A Vampire it started already in March of last year in Mexico, after which it continued with ten stops in Australia, followed by the United States and Canada. In the summer of this year, Billy Corgan and his iconic gang will appear again in Europe.
If the concerts that have already been played are any indication, it is precisely the fact that we are in for a cross-section of a thirty-year discography and a performance of timeless hits from one of the most fundamental groups of the late eighties. The Smashing Pumpkins will play in Prague O2 universe on Thursday July 4, 2024.
