TACHOV – Drivers in the Tachov region were able to convince themselves in recent days that the police focus on checking compliance with speed limits not only during traffic safety events.

On Friday, May 3 of this year, the Tachov traffic police carried out road traffic monitoring as part of their normal service, which also included measuring the speed of vehicles. “Eight drivers paid on-the-spot fines totaling more than 13,000 crowns for exceeding the maximum permitted speed. For the other four, the speed was so high that the police confiscated their driver’s license on the spot. The highest violation of speed limits was measured outside the village, when the record holder of the day was a driver who drove at a speed of 185 km/h,” said police spokeswoman Iva Vršecká, adding that a speed of 153 km/h followed, 152 km/h and the last driver, who was driver’s license suspended, driving at a speed of 147 km/h.

The police have filed an offense report with all the mentioned drivers, and the amount of the penalty will be decided by the administrative body. The police could only be pleased by the fact that all the drivers checked had a negative breathalyzer test on that day.
