On May 12, the opening concert of the Prague Spring Festival will be preceded by the interactive installation Co Cech, to Musician in front of the Rudolfinum and the opening in the Municipal House. On Sunday, the interactive installation Co Cech, to Muzikan prepared in cooperation with the Signal festival will open in front of the Rudolfinum. “It is made up of 16 luminous trunks of a symbolic musical forest. By approaching the individual columns, the works of this year’s key authors can be heard – the melodies of Vltava from Smetana’s cycle Má vlast, the diverse musical worlds of Miroslav Srnka and his work Superorganisms or the rhythms of Kryštof Mařatka’s Lure. By moving between the trunks, visitors complete their compositions and become music creators themselves,” Martin Pošta, founder and director of the Signal Festival, told ČTK. The exhibition in the Municipal House will present a new accompanying project of the Art Salon Prague Spring festival, in which important Czech visual artists have worked on the theme of My Homeland. In the Municipal House, the festival will open with Bedřich Smetana’s Má vlast, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of chief conductor Kirill Petrenko. President Petr Pavel and his wife Eva promised to attend the opening concert. Fanfare from the opera Libuše will also be performed by the Berlin Philharmonic. Journalists were informed about this by festival director Pavel Trojan. The opening concert, which was sold out during the first days of sales, can be watched live on a large screen in the park in Prague’s Kampa. This year’s 79th edition of the Prague Spring will bring five dozen concerts until June 3.
