The Central Bohemian councilors approved the Subsidy Program 2024 to support the development of inter-municipal cooperation in the area of ​​strategic development of associations of municipalities in the region. Two and a half million crowns will go to support unions. At the same time, the region fulfills the objectives of the Regional Development Strategy of the Czech Republic 2021+ and the Concept of Rural Development. Subsidy applications can be submitted from mid-June to early July 2024.

The Central Bohemian Region is aware of the importance of associations of municipalities as important actors in regional and local development. That is why the regional councilors at their meeting today approved the 2024 Subsidy Program to support the development of inter-municipal cooperation. “Our goal is to strengthen the ability of multi-purpose associations of municipalities to provide services and to improve the quality of these services provided to member municipalities and their citizens,” states Jiří Snížek, Deputy Governor for Regional Development and Spatial Planning, and continues: “Multipurpose, multifunctional bundles, in gradient or functional micro-regions are one of the target groups whose involvement the Regional Development Strategy counts on. At the same time, we also respond to stimulating activities for the development of inter-municipal cooperation initiated by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.”

The Central Bohemian Region allocated 2.5 million crowns for support. “Obtaining the subsidy is subject to the fulfillment of clearly defined conditions, which will be documented when applying for a subsidy. And subsequently for partial payment of costs related to the functioning of municipal unions. “The applicant’s minimum participation is set at fifty percent of the total eligible costs, and the maximum share of the subsidy will be provided up to fifty percent of the total eligible costs,” named Snízek. The maximum amount of the subsidy, subject to compliance with the applicant’s minimum participation, is CZK 300,000, or CZK 150,000 according to the specified criteria.

The subsidy can be used for partial reimbursement of the personal costs of the recipient’s employees who participate in strategic activities in the field of transport services, development of non-motorized transport, education, waste management, social services, water management, green maintenance, provision of high-speed Internet and data services, culture and of tourism, where the end users are citizens of the association of municipalities.

The deadline for submitting grant applications was set from 6/17/2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 7/4/2024 until 4:00 p.m.
