Correspondence election: Proceedings in the House of Representatives continue

--
  • ANO chairman Andrej Babiš began by criticizing the government and the media Thursday’s series of opposition obstruction speeches in the House of Representatives.
  • Deputies resolve the correspondence option for Czechs living abroad in the 2nd reading.
  • Babiš stated, among other things, that the government did not fulfill any of the pre-election coalition promises, the pension reform is not a reform and the cabinet of Petr Fiala (ODS) is robbing old-age pensioners.
  • Instead of traditional government criticism, ANO representatives also resorted to non-traditional topics – instead of a postal election he was attacking Karel Havlíček (YES) to the mayor of Řeporyjí, Pavel Novotný (ODS). And he called on the Prime Minister and the head of the ODS Fiala to take action against him.

Havlíček mentioned “pinďoura”

“I present here on the floor of the House of Representatives a challenge to the chairman of the ODS, Petar Fial, to categorically distance himself from the statement, behavior and especially from the person of the mayor of Repóry, who holds a high public office as a representative and as mayor precisely for the ODS. Because if anyone lives in the belief that he is just a political provocateur, then they are very, very wrong. He is a dangerous individual with psychopathic tendencies who, if he does not intervene in time, can immediately endanger those around him.” he got upset on Thursday in the Havlíček Chamber of Deputies.

“Idiot, moron, jerk, k*kot, broom; so those are the better names used by the mayor of Repóry for the ODS,” criticized Havlíček in the Novotný Chamber of Deputies.

“And most recently, as we all know, he hit the family of a well-known musician hard. That’s only because he allowed himself to take a photo with the candidates for the European Parliament. So he buried his seriously ill daughter for this,” he said in connection with Novotný’s comment on Felix Slováček’s photo with coalition candidates Enough! at the head of the KSČM to the European Parliament, when Novotný wrote on the network that “Felix was always a d*bil” and added a harsh remark about his sick daughter Anička Slováčková.

Havlíček is now demanding tougher action against the Mayor of Repoříj for his provocative and vulgar statements. “I didn’t expect that the mayor of Reporyj’s little pin-head would make a big show,” stated Havlíček, who demanded a reprimand from the presiding meeting for this.

“Hollow head, little pindo. Guess who it is? Hint: he plays a politician and is friends with him, for example, Prime Minister Fiala or Danuše Nerudová…,” he recently insulted Havlíček Novotného on a social network. “Pavel Novotný is an animal – a blunt head, a big belly, a small pinďour,” added Havlíček.

Havlíček didn’t see my dick. I’m not gay, maybe you mistook me for another partner, I don’t know. I will not stoop to his leveleven though I know that there is a cripple next to me in the shower,” Novotný then responded sharply.

“The reporting jerk in the House of Commons. Another challenge to Petr Fial to categorically and clearly distance himself from his member and the mayor of a Prague district. Otherwise, the chairman of the ODS bears joint responsibility for his actions and reprehensible statements and descends to the same level,” X Havlíček said on the social network about today’s speech in the House of Representatives.

On Thursday, Novotný commented on Havlíček’s account after the appearance of the ANO politician in the House of Representatives: “That Karel Havlíček needs a hug first of all, hear from friends (when he already left a guardian at home) that he has twice the size of the mayor of Řeporyjí and take him carefully to the ambulance. If he twitches: caress, comfort, encourage! Can none of the MPs-doctors see that he is screwed?

Babiš: They made us idiots

Otherwise, however, the parliamentary speeches turned largely to criticism of Fial’s government. And also to the still simmering disputes over pension reform. “This group does not fulfill either the pre-election program or the post-election program, they simply do not fulfill anything at all,” claimed Babiš.

Babiš recalled that in November 2022, Prime Minister and ODS Chairman Fiala promised that his government would not increase the retirement age, to then include the possibility of moving this limit beyond the age of 65 in the draft of its pension reform. He also pointed out that the government reduced the valuation of pensions last year. “Obviously this government took what they could from the pensioners,” Babiš means.

According to Babiš, the amount of pensions could have been ensured by the preservation of revenues from the canceled electronic records of sales. However, according to the cabinet, the EET system was unprofitable. “This government is truly the worst, most lying and totally incompetent. We haven’t had this here since the revolution, it’s really unbelievable hell. We returned to the nineties. The gray economy thrives here,” Babiš complained.

However, he returned even after refusing another meeting with representatives of the coalition of five in the Castle with the participation of President Petr Pavle.

“The embarrassing campaign that was created on the basis that we were naive and that we started negotiating with Mr. Jurečka, Mrs. Schillerová met with him several times, but he never delivered anything. And then, because we’re decent, we accepted the president’s invitation, and basically they turned us into total moronsthat we have nothing, no program,” thundered Babiš in the House of Representatives. “This is about the government making fools and morons out of the citizens and lying. What is this reform? This is no reform,” continued Babiš.

They discussed the wine tax and the migration pact

Babiš spoke for about 2.5 hours. In a subsequent speech, the head of the ANO parliamentary club, Alena Schillerová, warned against the effects of the introduction of an excise tax on still wine.

“The impact would be painful and for many fatal. Domestic wine production, already much more expensive for our geographical location than in Italy, Spain or France, would become even less profitable. And while all wine-growing countries support their winemakers, the Czech Republic is supposed to be the only wine-growing country in Europe that will throw sticks under their feet due to its government detached from reality. In addition to talking to winemakers and knowing their industry, I am also someone who has spent most of my professional life in financial management. And that’s why I know very well that no significant budgetary benefit would arise from the introduction of this difficult and costly tax to administer,” Schillerová claimed, and in the dispute within the coalition of five between the KDU-ČSL and Zbyňek Stanjura (ODS), she took the side of the People’s Party, who also reject the abolition of the zero consumption tax on still wine.

Chairman of another opposition movement SPD Tomio Okamurahe used the right of priority speech in the House of Representatives to criticize the EU migration pact and the government, which he accused of treason in connection with it.

“The migration pact is a disaster for the Czech Republic and another betrayal of our citizens by the Fial government,” Okamura said. He dwelled on the fact that the Czech Republic was not against the EU’s approval of the migration rules, but held back on confirming the final wording. “It’s absolutely appalling what you’ve put us through,” the SPD leader declared. “How do you want to return a million migrants a year who come here?” he asked. In addition, Okamura also dealt with Russian military aggression against Ukraine. According to him, the conflict should end by stopping the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
