The Hockey Pirates are already preparing a team for the second highest Chance League. Already during the season, the club announced the extension of cooperation with defender Filip Eliáš and forwards Jan Svoboda and Petr Eret. At the same time, the pirates exercised several options and are conducting further negotiations, so only three players are currently leaving the promotion squad that returned Chomutov hockey to professional competition. Actually four, as Alexandr Remeš, who finished the season in the České Budějovice junior team, will not continue either. On Thursday afternoon, heartthrob Jakub Chrpa (see video) announced his farewell to the Chomutov jersey and fans (see video), who played in the regional league, second league, Chance league and Tipsport extraliga in the pirate jersey and he did a unique thing when he advanced to all competitions with Chomutov.

Along with the 21-year-old attacker, other young players from the offensive line are currently signing up for the exit column – 20-year-old David Putz, a year older Lukáš Stehlík and 22-year-old Daniel Jouza. “I would like to thank all four of them for the services they rendered to the club on the way to the first league, and wish them the best of luck in their future careers and personal lives,” says A-team manager Jiří Sochor.
Purely from the point of view of statistics, Lukáš Stehlík was the most visible, who recorded fourteen Canadian points (5+9) in 26 duels of the long-term phase and added a goal with an assist in eleven starts in the playoffs. David Putz also played the same amount of games in the regular season and overtime, scoring three points less (3+8), but scoring four Canadian points (1+3) in the elimination games.

Daniel Jouza scored the go-ahead goal in the seventh final, his third goal in sixteen playoff games. In the long-term part, he also worked on loan, so he managed “only” fifteen matches with a balance of two accurate hits and three assists. Alexandr Remeš played in the Chomutov jersey in nine second division matches with a balance of two final passes.
As already mentioned, the club exercised the option right for some players. This move concerns goalkeeper Martin Altrichter and defenders Radek Havel and Patrik Kadeřávek. Martin Tůma and Tadeáš Svoboda continue the attack. The procedure then automatically extended the contract of defender Petr Ulrych for another two years. “For other members of the current squad, the outcome of negotiations with potential reinforcements depends to a certain extent. As soon as there is anything new, we will inform the fans immediately,” says sports manager Martin Pešout.

Of course, fans will be very interested in the situation surrounding hockey twins Viktor Hübl and František Lukeš. The first-named has already indicated that, as always, he is taking time to think, the second will depend on further examinations after back surgery. “Viktor should let you know at the end of May, Franta wants to continue playing, but it will depend on the results of the examination in August,” reveals the head coach, who was the second in the club’s history to advance with the team to the second highest league. Oldřich Hurych became the first at the end of the year 1949/1950.
