They built a house for the price of an apartment, they have a garden and their own well

--

The architects and the clients really went through the whole journey from the plot of land to the finished building. The clients lived in the given locations and were quite familiar with the offer of local plots. The budget for the house was not very large, so they tried to subdivide the plot, which would offer a bit of garden after the mortgage.

This was done in the village of Bval, which was later absorbed by the Ostrava region of Poruba. There is only a strip of family buildings, which is separated from the community by a road and a park with a pond.

In order to make maximum use of the land, the architects placed the building on the border with the public space and with minimal distances from the other two borders of the land. It had to be taken into account that the plot of land is protected by an underground high-voltage line.

The house responds to the current problem of lack of water with its own well and an underground collector for runoff water from the roof of the house and the terrace. The owners originally thought about an electric composting toilet that would be used in cottages and provide the same user comfort as a flush toilet, but not connected to water or sewage. She leads him quite far from the house. In the end, however, they had to connect to the sewage system because of the adm.

Open disposition

Only 72 m to the parking area2 managed to create a comfortable home for a growing family. The building is unusual not only in the facade, but also in many other ways. It is defined as a different open construction with a facade made of cedar boards. The inner perimeter walls are made of whitewashed plasterboard, the elements are made of beech wood. The suspended ceilings of the gallery are formed by the ceiling and the slope.

Privacy is an open layout, where the only rooms that can be locked are the bathroom, toilet and study. The children’s room and the nursery in the basement are connected to the fixed main living space only by sliding doors and hinges, which can be replaced by light sliding panels in the future.

The unusual open layout allowed only the stove and air-to-air heat pump to be used for heating.

This open layout also allowed the house to be heated by a hundred wood-burning stoves, their chimney pipe passing through the middle of the house. According to there is a heat pump air air. the pump is fixed to the facade, the old unit is placed in the interior for warm air circulation. The house was thus surrounded without a radiator or other distribution.

On the ground floor, a large window leads from the main living room, which naturally connects the house with the garden. The windows in the nursery, children’s room, bathroom and galleries provide views of the surroundings and the crowns of the pine trees near the house.

Both floors are connected by a double-arm staircase. A small cellar is found under the floor plan of the car, one of which is used to store seasonal food, then he put a heater in the cabin, outside you can heat audio books. For the comfort of the house, there is a terrace and an area under the pine trees, where you can sit by the fire.
