The incident took place last November in Staré Plzeň, where the young man came to the apartment to pick up the victim. When the older man went to see him off to the train station, Matyáš S. attacked him and demanded money from him.
“When the victim refused to give them, the defendant started threatening to rob, beat and kill him,” said prosecutor Šárka Komorousová. When threats did not work on the 43-year-old man, Matyáš S. attacked him physically. “He knocked the man to the ground, where he kicked him in the stomach with his knee and then began to strangle him with words in order to pour money on him,” the prosecutor continued, adding that a witness prevented the young man from continuing the attack.
Before the court, Matyáš S. confessed to the assault. But he refused to testify further. He only stated that he was currently staying in a charity hostel and was trying to find a job. His defense attorney, Petr Vlach, indicated that the defendant could have demanded money that the victim had promised him, for example, for sexual services.

During questioning, the attacked man confirmed that he had an intimate relationship with Matyáš S. “I was giving him money for it,” he said. But he denied that the defendant had visited him that day for sex. “Nothing happened. He was very hungry, so he came to eat with me. Then I gave him a hundred for the train to leave. I was afraid of him, I wanted him to disappear from Pilsen quickly,” Zdeněk M testified before the court.
They are friends again
He then said of the incident that everything happened very quickly. “Suddenly he came after me saying he wanted money to go and withdraw it from the ATM. He flat out said that otherwise he would rob and kill me. I told him he wouldn’t get anything. Within moments I was lying on the ground, where he grabbed me by the tie and began to strangle me. He only let me go when someone shouted at us what was going on,” the victim described the attack. “When he was leaving, he yelled at me to disappear quickly and stay out of his sight,” added Zdeněk M.
At the end of his testimony, the victim stated that Matyáš S. later apologized to him. “He told me he was worried about it. Now we are friends again, we are in contact and see each other,” concluded Zdeněk M.
Defense attorney Matyáše S pointed this out in his closing speech. “It is surprising that the injured party, after being brutally attacked by my client, according to his words, is still in contact with him, they are friends and spend time together,” pointed out Vlach.
