BRNO-VENKOV, VYŠKOV – The world championship in ice hockey starting in a few days is an opportunity for fraudsters who offer to buy fake tickets. They managed to fool a few fans.

Fraudsters have been selling fake tickets for the soon-to-start ice hockey world championship. A 55-year-old woman from Brno found an offer for tickets to a match of the Czech national team on fraudulent websites. She paid more than 20 thousand crowns for three packages. But when she had the tickets checked by the official distributor, she heard the sad result that the tickets were fake. All that was left in her hand were worthless scraps of paper.

Under the pretext of selling tickets for the European Football Championship 2024, which will be held from June 14, another fraudster probably communicated with a pair of young men from Vyškovsko. “He deceived the person interested in top football by sending him almost 70,000 crowns within a few days. Now it is no longer possible to contact the seller,” stated police spokesman Bohumil Malášek.
