“Since we started offering it at the end of April, this product has become the most requested product in the online environment. Overall, it reaches approximately one third of the total demand,” Jiří Matoušek from the Centropol board of directors confirmed to Novinkám.

The Tedom, Lamy and Centropol offers are now at the current distribution rate for a total price below six crowns per kilowatt hour, which is about one crown less than the fixed rates and more than two crowns cheaper than some contracts for an indefinite period.

With a typical consumption of three thousand kilowatt hours per year, the difference in payment now amounts to 8,000 crowns.

ENA analyst Jiří Gavor recommends such contracts, although he warned that the prices of monthly fixations and classic offers will begin to converge.

“We see that for a month now, prices on the stock exchange have been higher than at the end of March. However, the offers, especially from large suppliers, continue to decline and are constantly being improved. We have already passed the bottom of wholesale prices, but the tariffs for households are set with a delay, and I hope that they will improve even more,” he told Novinkám.

He recommends short-term fixation for customers who are a bit market oriented. “Now their price will increase a bit and the fixings will continue to be improved for some time. The price advantage will slowly decrease, but it is still the best offer on the market,” added the expert.

According to Datarun analyst Petr Bartoná, short-fixes are often associated with lower prices than with an annual flat rate and at the same time allow the consumer to monitor how the monthly prices gradually develop.

“Consumers thus leave the door open, and if they see a trend that the price of energy is increasing on the market, they will be able to quickly fix it by switching from a monthly to an annual flat rate,” he told Novinkám.

Until the winter, when higher prices are at risk, according to him, it may be more advantageous to move in monthly “jumps”, and to insure against winter price increases with a longer contract before the winter.

People can enter into a contract for a monthly fixation without any penalty after the expiry of the contract with a fixed price or after the expiration of three months from the termination of the contract for an indefinite period. The supplier informs the customer of the price of power electricity in advance, so the price for June is already known. If the customer finds it high, he can withdraw from the contract within a month’s notice period.

“The notice period for the Monthly with change product is one calendar month, regardless of whether the price is trending upwards or downwards. This means that the client will complete the current month in which he resigns and the entire following month on this product,” said Matoušek. This applies on the assumption that the client would change suppliers.

“If the client asks Centropol to change the product, the change will take place within days. The one-month notice period thus applies only when leaving this product and at the same time changing the supplier,” he declared.

The notice period for a price increase is no later than ten days before the price change takes effect. “We notify the client of a price change at least thirty days in advance,” concluded Matoušek.
