The first incident occurred shortly before eight o’clock in the morning on a second class road. A 17-year-old motorcyclist was heading from the village of Ostřetice to Klatovy and the driver of a Volkswagen Caddy was driving against him. “According to the facts established so far, he turned left, did not give way to the motorcycle and a collision occurred,” described police spokeswoman Iva Vršecká.
Mária Svobodová from the regional ambulance added that the young patient suffered moderate injuries. “He was conscious. We transported him by air to the emergency department of the Pilsen University Hospital,” she said.

The helicopter subsequently intervened on the main road from Pilsen to Karlovy Vary, where a 61-year-old motorcyclist on a BMW crashed. The accident happened in front of Úněšov in northern Pilsen.
“A 61-year-old driver on a BMW motorcycle overtook a Volkswagen vehicle from the right. It was turning right at that moment, and that’s how the collision happened,” outlined police spokeswoman Dagmar Brožová.
The 61-year-old patient had moderate injuries but was conscious. “The helicopter also transported him to the emergency department of the Pilsen University Hospital,” said Svobodová.
Brožová added that the 61-year-old man could not submit to a breath test due to his health condition, and therefore a blood sample was ordered at a medical facility.
