On Saturday, May 11, the Run for the Memory of the Nation will take place in Uherské Hradiště. The accompanying program in Uherské Hradiště will be joined this year by the popular faces of the Slovak Theater. One of them is Jitka Hlaváčová, whose husband Drahomír is a history teacher at the local grammar school and one of the main organizers of the entire event.
“I’ve always been interested in history, but since I’ve known my husband, that interest has become even greater because he can explain everything to me with context, and today I understand many things much better thanks to him. He asked me to participate in the accompanying program, but even if he didn’t, I would have offered myself to participate in any way, that is, except for running,” laughs the popular actress, saying that in the end together with her colleague Petra Staňková in Smetanovy in the orchards where the run will take place, they will read a fairy tale to the children. “I will be happy if we manage to find a story that is related to what the Run for the Memory of the Nation reminds us of,” adds Jitka Hlaváčová.
The actress Petra Staňková decided to go even further and participate in the run itself, on the main track of 5 kilometers. “I think that movement is also a form of art, and here it is also connected to a good cause. That’s why I regularly participate in the run itself, and this year there was an opportunity to combine it with reading a fairy tale, so it all seemed like time well spent,” adds Petra Staňková. In addition to the five-kilometer run, there will also be short routes for children and a symbolic 1-kilometer run, which is often completed by families with children with the help of strollers, bouncers and scooters.
In the past, actresses Pavlína Hejcmanová and Tereza Novotná or actor Tomáš Šuaj and production theater Štěpán Goiš have also completed the Run for the Memory of the Nation. This year, actors Martha Issová, Václav Neužil and Jan Nedbal or the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic Karel Řehka are supporting the nation-wide Run for the Memory of the Nation this year.
