Charlotte arrests: Five dead, four of them police officers. Armored vehicles had to enter the house

“We lost some heroes today who were out there trying to protect our community,” Police Chief Johnny Jennings said, according to The Seattle Times.

A US marshal, who is a member of the federal service that makes arrests, approached the home of 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, around 2:30 in the afternoon, along with a police officer and two members of the prison office. The man illegally held a gun and avoided prosecution.

Before they got directly to the house, a man started shooting at them from the backyard. They returned fire. Three people from the group that came to make the arrests were killed in the shootout. The policeman was injured. The shooter was also killed.

Other policemen came to the aid of the four, who then faced another shot from the house. Four attackers hit, one later succumbed to serious injuries.

The house was then surrounded and after three hours the police decided to crack down. Two armored SWAT vehicles drove up to the house, breaking through the door and breaking out the windows. She drove through the house.

A high-powered rifle was found in the house. A woman and a 17-year-old boy were also there and are being questioned in connection with the shooting from the residence.
