In recent days, the case surrounding Helldivers 2 has attracted considerable attention. Sony specifically came up with a requirement for PC players who had to create and then connect a PSN account with Steam. This move was met with loud criticism, which was especially evident in the game’s ratings. In just the last few days, the game on Steam has received over 200 thousand negative reviews, which brought the overall rating down to 52%. Helldivers 2 has also been discontinued in over 170 countries where PSN is not available.

Apparently, the criticism was so intolerable that eventually Sony switched gears. The result is today https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1787331667616829929in which the Japanese company announced the cancellation of the criticized condition. So you won’t need a PSN account to play Helldivers 2. “We’re always learning what’s best for PC gamers, and your feedback is invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2. We’ll keep you posted on our next plans.” stated at the end of the statement attached below by representatives of Sony.
