Five-year-old Hirscher ended his sleepless career in 2019. Now the owner of a record eight overall triumphs in the World Cup decided to shake things up and the change of national team was officially approved by the Austrian federation.

The union tried to beat Hirscher with an offer of the best possible conditions, including individual training, but in the end, out of respect for the results in the Austrian national team, they unanimously agreed to his offer.

Of course, we are sorry that you are leaving to join the Dutch national team. But we decided to support him, stated the general secretary of the union Christian Scherer in the address of the owner of a record eight overall triumphs in the World Cup, which Hirscher ruled without exception in 2011 and 2019.

The Hirscher bag is the hardest way back. He dropped to the 850th place in the world championship, and in 2018 he therefore presented himself in the FIS category in New Zealand in order to start collecting the points needed to start in the World Championship.
