Czech-Moravian Rally Cup (ČMPR) starts Saturday’s Rally Králíky. More than a hundred crews signed up for the competition.

The Czech-Moravian Rally Cup began to take shape in 2013 mainly from the companies of the then Rallye Cup, the Free Cup and other companies not included in any official championship of the Czech Republic.

A successful tradition since 2014

The first official season of the ČMPR took place a year later, in the 2014 season. The calendar included seven competitions and the absolute winner was Martin Šikl. This year marks the eleventh year. Popular competitions have their starting lists filled within hours of the opening of applications. During one year, around 280 different crews will perform on the ČMPR tracks.

Points are allocated within the absolute ranking and in individual classes, while at the same time the basic division into current and historic cars applies. The point gain from individual races is multiplied by a coefficient, which is determined separately for each rally based on the number of stages, the number of sections, the length and repetition of special stages, whether it is also driven at night, etc.

The safety of the competitions is at the level of the Czech championship, the cars are subject to homologation rules, they are equipped with all safety equipment including frames, the crews must use fireproof overalls and approved helmets. Each car has its own technical license and each pilot must undergo a medical examination by a sports doctor once every two years.

New center in Červená Voda

This year’s ČMPR season will start with the second year of the Králíky Rally. the basic nature of the competition, which is scheduled for Saturday on the border of the Pardubice and Olomouc regions. Four measured sections are prepared, which will be run twice.

The shortest special stage will measure 7.37 km, the longest more than double. It will be the Vysoký Potok – Červená Voda expressway. The completely new track with a length of 15.20 km is one of the two main novelties of the Králíky Rally. It will lead through a very nice passage around the peak of Jeřáb, which is the only 1000m (1003 m above sea level) in the Hanušovice Highlands.

The newly established cooperation with the municipality of Červená Voda became crucial for this year for one more reason than the goal of the fourth and eighth special stages. A year ago, it was not possible to find the right location for the service zone, the surface of which became very muddy during the race.

The second novelty is that this year the service will be located in the paved parking lots of the Mountain Resort Buková – Červená Voda. Instead of a standard kiosk, refreshments prepared in a local restaurant will be available to competitors and spectators. A total of 90 km of special stages await the crews.

Last year, with a balance of six wins out of eight, Karel Kupec and Petr Glössl in the Ford Fiesta Rally3 were happy with the victory. Second place was taken by husband and wife Petr and Olga Zednik with a Ford Fiesta Rally2, and third place was taken by Vladimír Odehnal and Lukáš Pořízek in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
