Five goals in the derby. The players of Slavia defeated Sparta, a record fell in Eden

Sovereign performance by Slavia, five goals, almost summer weather and on top of that a record attendance. So far, the largest number of people came to the top Czech women’s league last March at Letná (5,734), almost five hundred more fans arrived at Eden this time.

And they didn’t get bored. They already saw a penalty kick in the 4th minute. Spartan midfielder Dlasková was looking for Kožárová in the penalty area, and after her collision with stopper Bendová, the referee Čampišová was clear. The 18-year-old defender Sparty Bárková, who replaced Dědinová, who was playing for the cards, made a mistake in the pass, Veselá quickly caught the ball and made no mistake in front of the goalkeeper Kožuriková.

“I found myself there alone, I tried to counter-move the ball and it worked, I’m very happy,” said Veselá after the match.

The domestic soccer players continued to dominate on the field, they were better in combination, more athletic, faster. Sparta lacked movement and confidence on the ball. Kožuriková had her hands full, the Slavists shot at the goal from every free position, the rivals from Letná couldn’t keep up with them.

After almost half an hour of play, the score could have been 2:0. Veselá crossed into the box, Szewieczková headed, but the Spartan number one was ready. And another shot by the Slavist attacker nicknamed “Ševi” ended up on the post. Shots on goal after the first half? 5:0.

After the change of sides, the score also changed rapidly. Szewieczková, the best player of the match, made it. Svitková’s attempt did not end with a goal, her substitute Šurnovská was already more successful. After an hour of play, she used Morávková’s cross and made it 3:0 with a nice volley into the crossbar.

“We want a storm,” echoed the tribune Sever. However, the goal fell on the other side, captain Bertholdová scored. Shouldn’t it be drama? Nowhere. Five minutes before the end, Szewieczková scored her second goal in the match. “Thanks, girls,” Eden said.

While the players of Slavia are in danger of finishing second for the third year in a row, the red and white footballers are confidently going for the third championship double in a row. They can celebrate the title next Sunday against Slovakia. They will face the same opponent on May 8 in Velké Meziříčí in the final of the domestic cup.
