Pilsen footballers defeated Mlada Boleslav 3:0 in the first round of the extension group for the title in the Fortuna:Liga. In the European cup group, Teplice won 2:0 against Liberec and Hradec Králové won 3:1 against Olomouc.

Plzeň beat Mlada Boleslav 3:0 at home in the opening round of the league extension in the group for the title. The West Bohemians went on to a comfortable victory right from the start with goals from Cadu and Cheick Souaré, and after the change of sides, Tomáš Chorý made his mark.

The West Bohemians did not lose in the league with Boleslav for the tenth time in a row, and unlike the 1:1 draw with them in February, they did not lose points this time. Viktoria did not find a winner in the top competition for the fifth time in a row and repeated the 3-0 victory from the last round of the regular season over Teplice. Pilsen, from third place in the table, continue to lose 10 points to second place Slavia. Boleslav won only one of the last five rounds and remained in fifth place, losing a point to fourth Ostrava.

Before the superstructure, Pilsen were almost certain to finish third, as they could no longer drop to fourth place and at the same time they were significantly losing to the second Slavia. Even so, West Bohemia coach Koubek, who extended his contract in Victoria a few days ago, fielded practically the strongest line-up and his charges dominated from the start.

In the 10th minute, Chorý pushed Šulec to the right side of the field, who presented the ball in the goal to Cadu, who opened the scoring with a shot at the far post. The Brazilian full back or midfielder scored his fourth goal in the league season and his jubilee 20th goal in the Czech top flight.

Just two minutes later, the home team increased the score after a similar action. After Šulc’s next pass from the right side, Kostka deflected the ball unemphatically, and Souaré, the second of the Pilsen halfbacks, volleyed the ball to the post. French winter reinforcement Viktorie scored the second goal in the Czech league.

In the 29th minute, they got the home ball into the net for the third time. But at the beginning of the event, Šulc took the ball offside and the 16th goal in the season of the top competition, with which he would have reached the leader of the table of Gunners Slavist Jurečka, was called off by the referee after the intervention of the video referee. After that, Souaré’s shot was pulled to the corner with effort by goalkeeper Mikulec.

The Central Bohemians did not look much like a team fighting for European cups. Their coach Holoubek had already made two substitutions before halftime, and he did the same before the start of the second act.

The guests added a little after the break and goalkeeper Jedliček kept the favorite twice. First, in the 53rd minute, he took a shot from Jawa, and after a while he caught another substitute player, Vaníček. Meanwhile, on the other side, the agile Souaré hit the top of the crossbar with a volley in a difficult position.

In the 62nd minute, Pilsen already made it 3:0. Cadua’s pass from the right side was promptly placed by Chorý at close range in the net. The Czech international scored for the fifth time in the last three competitive duels and improved to 11 goals in the league season. After that, Souaré missed the open goal after a “jam” and Chorý, who headed, didn’t make it either.

Apparently, the visitors were not even awarded a goal in Štruncový sady. In the 88th minute, Král failed in front of Jedlička and immediately fired another great chance over Jawo. Hilál didn’t make it in the setup, either, as he kicked himself on a small lime.

Teplice won in an excellent atmosphere

Teplice beat Liberec 2:0 at home in the opening semi-final match of the league extension group for Europe. Striker Daniel Fila opened the scoring in the 56th minute with his tenth goal in the top flight, and substitute Filip Havelka added the insurance in the setup in his hundredth start in the league. The “Sklář” defeated their North Bohemian rival at home in the top competition for the third time in a row and did not lose even the third game against them in the league season.

Revenge under Ještěd is scheduled for a week. In the final, the winner will face the runner-up from the double match Hradec Králové – Olomouc, the opening match in eastern Bohemia ended 3:1. The best team in the group for Europe awaits a fight with the fifth overall in the group for the title, in which they will play for participation in the qualification of the European Conference League.

The match was played from the very beginning at a decent pace and in an excellent atmosphere, it only lacked goal chances. The only shot between the three posts was scored by Ghali from Liberec in the fourth minute, but goalkeeper Ludha had no problems with his weak attempt.

After the change of sides, almost five thousand spectators saw more scoring opportunities. In the 49th minute, Tupta stretched out of step and hit the post of Ludha’s goal with a long shot from outside the box. Immediately, the best scorer of the home team Fila could strike on the other side, whose fierce header was pulled out for a corner by Bačkovský.

The striker of the under-21 national team scored his jubilee goal in the league season in the 56th minute. After a nice combination in the middle of the field, he guided the ball to the left and fired the ball under the crossbar from 25 meters. The guest from Slavia also made the top management of Prague happy, including the chairman of the board Jaroslav Tvrdík and coach Jindřich Trpišovský, who were present in the Teplice Stínadel stands today. Fila followed up on the goals from both previous matches in this league season.

Kulenovič had a lightning answer on the boot, but Trubač deprived him of an almost certain goal with a self-sacrificing slide. In another great chance, Tupta missed the ball cleanly and his Slovakian compatriot Ludha hid a bouncing shot in his gloves.

In the 72nd minute, Liberec’s top scorer Kulenovič came close to equalizing again, as he was unable to direct a cross shot into the net in front of an empty goal. In addition, he was unable to avoid the pole and had to be replaced after a hard impact. Liberec still increased the pressure and in the 85th minute, Chaluš finished twice from a small goal, but Ludha scored two excellent saves.

In the second minute of regulation, a penalty came after another exhibition hit. The former player of Liberec Havelka curled the ball from the corner of the box to the far post six minutes after arriving on the field and scored the fourth goal of the league season.

Teplice won at home in the league after three matches, while at the same time they lost only one of the last 10 matches there. Slovan, on the other hand, confirmed that he is not doing well away from home in the current league season, he scored full points in 16 duels on opponent’s pitches only at the end of March in Pilsen.

Hradec turned towards Olomouc

Hradec Králové defeated Olomouc 3:1 at home in the opening semi-final match of the league extension group for Europe and progressed to the final. Sigma led thanks to a shot by Jáchym Šíp. Daniel Vašulín and Horák took care of the winners’ goals, Juraj Chvátal scored an own goal. The revenge against Hané is played in a week. The one advancing in the final will face the better of the Teplice – Liberec pair (2:0).

Due to the results of both teams, the “Invaders” were slight favorites at the end of the regular season, but the beginning went much better for Hanák. Vodháněl emphatically weaved his way in front of the goalkeeper and his solo was neutralized by Zadražil.

The guests then struck from a low-key move. With a long pass from the middle of the pitch, Ventúr pushed Šíp behind the defense and the midfielder lobbed his head over the surprised goalkeeper. He scored his second goal in the league season.

However, the home side made a big comeback before the break. After a corner kick, Petr Juliš fired and Chvátal knocked the ball into his own net. The experienced Pilař threw away a great chance, but East Bohemia did not have to regret it.

At the end of the half, Olomouc was penalized twice for frivolous losses of the ball. First, Vašulín caught goalkeeper Stoppen with a shot from a distance and scored his sixth goal in the league season. And just two minutes later, the guests gave the ball to Horák. The defender did not disdain the offer, after five months he scored again and moved to five goals in the year of the top competition.

Visiting coach Saňák reacted with a double substitution at the break, but the chances continued to increase on the home team’s side. Defender Klím, playing his 150th league duel, overshot, Juliš’s pinpoint shot hit the post. Stoppen was also threatened by substitute Čmelík, and Kodeš could score after a corner. In a promising position, Spáčil could not react in time.

The paper assumptions were thus fulfilled. While Sigma won only one of the last seven league matches, the East Bohemians lost only one goal to Sparta and Slavia in the last 12 matches.
