Defenders Patrik Bačik and Martin Buček and forwards Oliver Okuliar, Andrej Kollár and Alex Tamáši left the squad of the Slovak national team before Tuesday’s warm-up against the USA. On the other hand, extra-league finalists Peter Čerešňák, Libor Hudáček, Marko Daňo and Viliam Čacho will join the team.

The last warm-up match before the start of the WC didn’t go so well for him, but otherwise he was one of the best players in the Czech extra league throughout the season: after all 24 goals and a total of 45 points from the regular season are clear proof of that.
It was therefore not surprising that Okuliar received a lasso from the NHL in the spring – he signed a one-year contract with the powerful Florida. However, he will not add his second start to the World Cup. The increased competition in the Slovakian attack, which will be strengthened by five overseas reinforcements, was also carried away by his teammate from Hradec Králové
