March Madness 2024: Viewer’s Guide Day one, Round one of men’s NCAA Tournament action

It’s finally time for the men’s NCAA tournament to kick off. Mackenzie Salmon highlights her games to watch on the first day of round one action.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Utah State basketball team enters the 2024 NCAA Tournament as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region and will take on No. 9 seed Texas Christian University.

USU has a 26-7 overall record (14-4 Mountain West) while TCU sits at 21-12 (9-9 Big 12). Great Osobor leads the Aggies with 18 points per game while the Horned Frogs are led by Emanuel Miller’s 15.9 points a contest.

The game is being played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.

Good crowd on hand for this one. A healthy number of Purdue fans have stuck around and the upper deck is filled quite nicely.

Fun fact: TCU’s Chuck O’Bannon, 25, is the 6th-oldest player in DI. He also has a dog who accompanies him most everywhere he goes. Unfortunately, it does not appear said good boy made it to Gainbridge for tonight’s festivities.

The game is set to begin at 10:30 pm ET on Friday, March 22.

TV: TBS. Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) Dan Bonner and Stan Van Gundy (analysts) will call the game. Andy Katz is the sideline reporter.
