The price of electricity for households in the Czech Republic was the highest in the European Union in the second half of last year, if we take into account the different purchasing power in individual states. This follows from the Eurostat comparison published today according to the total price including taxes and fees.
Converted to an artificial PPS unit (purchasing power standard), electricity was on average the most expensive in the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany and Italy. On the contrary, households in Malta paid the least for it.

The nominal price of electricity in euros, i.e. without taking into account different purchasing power, was the highest in Germany, Ireland and Belgium last July to December. Czech consumers had the seventh most expensive electricity in the EU. Among the member states, people in Hungary paid the least.

In the second half of last year, natural gas was the most expensive in Lithuania, Sweden, Portugal, Italy and the Czech Republic after conversion according to purchasing power (PPS standard). On the contrary, the cheapest was in Hungary.

The nominal price of gas in euros, i.e. without taking into account different purchasing power, was the highest in Sweden, Ireland and the Netherlands in the second half of last year. The Czech Republic is exactly on the EU average. Households in Hungary paid the least for gas.
